TrueNorth LMS (“TrueNorth,” “we,” “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
We collect personal information that you provide directly, including your name, email address, and password when creating an account; billing information when making a purchase (processed by Stripe — we do not store full payment card numbers); and organization details for employer accounts.
We automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and learning progress data. We use essential cookies for authentication and may use analytics cookies to improve our services. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
We use your information to provide and maintain our services, process payments, track learning progress, issue certificates (for employer-sponsored accounts), communicate about your account, respond to inquiries, improve our platform, and comply with legal obligations. If you subscribe to communications, we may send newsletters and updates; you can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help operate our business (such as payment processors and hosting providers), when required by law or court order, or in connection with a business transfer. For employer-sponsored accounts, your employer may access your learning progress and completion data.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and secure password hashing. We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and personal information at any time.
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw consent to its collection, use, or disclosure. To exercise these rights, contact us through our contact page. We will respond within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
